I have a very worn wedding ring I inherited from my Dad. It really is beat.
At dinner tonight I was eating my burrito when my wife grabbed my hand/finger/ring and mumbled, "Wow! It really is wearing down to nothing!" My son quickly tuned in, looked me over, and said, "Oh, I thought she meant the ring!" Moving right along, he then pointed out, "If you've got the ring on your finger, how come we can see you?"
I was reminded of my wedding day when Larry, our dial-a-clergy, spoke our vows:
"One ring to rule them all,
One ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all,
And in the darkness bind them."
My daughter, reading over my shoulder, wants to know--Did he really say that?
